Moving around the site

The navigation buttons on the left hand side of the screen help you to move around the site. Tbe buttons separate the various departments of Appliance-Direct.co.uk, and clicking one will take you to the relevant department. With these buttons you can also access this help file, return to the 'about us' page, or view your shopping basket.

Selecting Items

When you have entered a department area, for example Televisions, you will then see a list of all the products we have available in this section. They are grouped by the manufacturer of the product, but by using the links at the top of the page, you can choose to see the products sorted by price or by the category of the product, for example, Widescreen TV's or Videos. When you have seen the item you are interested you can add the item to your basket by clicking the 'add to basket' button, or view more information and a picture of the product by clicking the 'more details' button - you can also add the item to your basket from this screen.

Searching for products

A quick way to find the products you are looking for is to use the 'search function'. You will find this at the top of the main page and at the top of all the category pages. This area helps you find what you are looking for - quickly. Simply select the type of product you are looking for, choose a manufacturer, pick a price and click the 'go' button. All the products that match will then be displayed, if your search is unsuccessful, a message will be displayed saying so.

Your Shopping Basket

When you click the 'add to basket button', your basket will be displayed with the new item added. Don't worry you are not committing yourself to anything at this stage, and you can always remove the product if you change your mind. If you wish to browse other products, simple use the buttons on the left hand side.

When you have finished browsing through the site and are ready to purchase, click the 'My Basket' button (unless you are already viewing this page!) to take you to view your basket. Look through the items, and when you are ready, click the 'Place Order' button.

Placing your Order

When you have clicked the 'Place Order' button as above, you are taken to the secure area of the site. This ensures that the information you enter on the order form cannot be seen by anyone except you and Appliance Direct. Appliance Direct not only uses a secure server to undertake this part of the process, but also uses complex encryption methods to safeguard your details.

At this stage please complete all the details as required on the form - you will not be able to proceed until the form is complete. If you have changed your mind at this stage you can always click the back button on your browser to take you back to the normal site. When you have completed all the details click the 'Submit Order' Button.

Confirming your Order

When you have submitted your order to Appliance Direct, you will the receive an automatic email confirming the order was sent successfully. This will normally happen within minutes, but please allow up to an hour for the email to reach you. We will then contact you personally, either by phone or by email with details of the order and expected delivery times etc.
